Payment is due in full with each order. Both Adult and Youth sizes are available: see Becky for exact size & design information. Shirts will be burgundy with white ink or white embroidery. Prices as follows: Screen-print T-shirt $ 7 Embroidered T-shirt $ 12 CHURCH BUILDING KEYS With the installation of the new front doors came new keys for the main entrance of the church. Current front door keys will continue to open the door to Young Hall. After much discussion, our leadership decided that these two outside entrances would be keyed differently so that when outside groups use Young Hall they can have access to the fellowship hall and not the sanctuary and our church offices. If you have a front entrance key and have not already received a new key, please see Eldon Mollet, Rich Kelley, or contact the church office. Resurrection’s Social Ministry Committee invites everyone to participate in the annual SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE for local needy schoolchildren. All types of school supplies are needed, including backpacks. Our collection continues now through Sunday, August 15th. There is a collection basket in the Narthex. On Sunday, September 26, we will host a new event at Resurrection. It is called Friendship Sunday. Our Outreach and Evangelism Committee has been working throughout this year planning for this event. It is a "bring-a-friend" Sunday. Not just any friend, however, but a friend who does not have a current church home. Over the next month you will be hearing about Friendship Sunday in the Newsletter, in the weekly bulletin and in several of our worship services. Consider who you might invite to church. The success of this event depends on the goodness of God - - - and YOU. Plans are now being made for a progressive dinner on October 16. The Fellowship Committee, chaired by Audrey Rhea, is looking for three hostess homes. Anyone interested in being a hostess can call Audrey at 466-5136 or email her by clicking here. SUMMER FOOD DRIVE CONTINUES Our local food pantry needs your help. The need for food actually increases in the summer because the children are out of school and are not receiving free/reduced breakfast and lunch. Please try to pick up a few extra items of food while you are shopping, to help Crisis Food Center in Alton. The most-requested items include peanut butter, jelly, tuna, cereal, and chicken noodle soup. Please place items in the bin labeled Crisis Food Center which is located in the Narthex. BENEVOLENCE OFFERINGS At our 2010 Annual Meeting we decided that our benevolence to the ELCA would no longer be a line item in our budget, but would be part of the designated giving by congregation members. To help facilitate your giving ELCA/Synod Benevolence envelopes have been placed in the pew racks. Simply fill in the amount of your offering in the box marked "ELCA & Synod" and put your name or regular offering envelope number on the opposite side of the envelope. These offerings will be credited to your offering statement and forwarded to the Synod on a monthly basis. You may also use these special envelopes to give to ELCA World Hunger as well as International and Domestic Disaster Relief. If you would like to designate your contribution to those in Chile or Haiti, simply mark "International Disaster Response". E-SCRIP Use your E-Scrip card when shopping at Schnucks and other participating businesses to earn money for Resurrection. If you do not have an E-Scrip card and wish to obtain one contact Stacey Loveland. Click here to email her. E-MAIL NEWSLETTER If you would like to receive your monthly Resurrectionist newsletter by e-mail, please contact the church secretary by e-mail or phone 466-2788. USE GOODSEARCH FOR YOUR INTERNET SEARCHES Every time you use www.goodsearch.com for your Internet searches Resurrection Lutheran Church earns $0.01. It all adds up and you can earn some green for the church with no effort on your part. Be sure to designate "Resurrection Lutheran Church, Godfrey, IL" as the charity of your choice. August 1
